Being Mommy {Mother's Day}

Being Mommy...

Being Mommy is oh so awesome. It is what I was put on this Earth for. I never knew my purpose until I was blessed with children. They make everything better.

Drew and Dylan are my whole life. Everything Justin and I do is for them. Our whole word revolves around them. There is nothing we wouldn't do for these two little rascals.

These two little boys just melt my heart to pieces. I get butterflies every single time I see them. It is a love like no other. It's indescribable. It is just so hard to put into words how much these two mean to me. They are my inspiration. They inspire me to do better and work hard and follow my dreams.

I love the way I have raised my children. It hasn't always been easy, but that's part of being a parent. The good trumps the bad by far. Of course there are fights and cries,  BUT all that is so so so worth it. I want to be with them 24/7. If it were up to me I would not work, they would be home schooled, and we would just travel the world together so we could spend every waking moment just us 4. But reality is, that ain't gonna happen! LOL.

I am SOOOOO proud of the little boys they have become. We have gotten compliments two different times this past week from complete strangers on how well behaved our children are in public. One lady told us, "Usually when I see children in a restaurant I cringe because I know they most likely will not behave, but your boys are the most well behaved boys. You should be proud." Coming from a complete stranger is the best compliment.

I could go on and on and on about these boys as I do every single day! ;)

Justin and I have created two amazing children.
See, what is wrong with me??
This post was going to be all about being a Mommy and I start writing and my little heart always goes back to my boys. :)

Drew's 7th Birthday Party!

I had plans to do a super cute baseball theme for Drew's party. Then I decided, nah....I'm not doing anything. Can I just say how much less stressful it is when you aren't stressing about decor and themes?? Wow.

When I told people I was not doing anything but buying cupcakes they were like "yeh, right. you'll do something." Nope. I did exactly opposite. I did not even buy a balloon. I'm proud of myself.
The forecast was not looking too good all week. We booked a gym as back up.
The morning of the party came a total downpour. We had to make the decision to let everyone know the party was moved because of rain. :(

BUT THEN...after lunch and horseback riding, it turned out to be a beautiful day!
I told Justin that I wanted to change it back to the house. LOL.
So I did just that and so happy I did!

After a short little shower the weather could not have been any more perfect!

My mom brought over an obstacle course and a dunk tank from her business,
Southern Illinois Inflatable Rentals
How lucky am I to get to have these at each party??

Towards the beginning of the party, I was stressing just a little because over our house the sky was literally split in between sunny skies and gray clouds. Luckily, we just got hit with a small shower, but it was awesome for the boys.
Baseball in the rain??
Of course! What's more fun than that!
We sang Happy Birthday, of course...

Look at all those happy smiley faces on the birthday boy. He was having such a good time with all his friends and classmates, which made for one happy mama!

After singing it was time for the DUNK TANK!
Drew got his Dad dunked first thing!
The water was so so so cold.
But he was a good sport and let all the kids have a turn to try and dunk him.

Then a couple of the little kids wanted to get dunked.
I was hesitant, but I let him do it.

Some of the kids ended the night with a sunset baseball game.
Sometime within the party Dylan had a wardrobe change to shorts only...
Oh Dylan...

This was such an easygoing, fun, activity filled party.
Drew had such a great time.
It could not have turned out anymore perfect and we hope everyone had just as great as time as we did!

And just one final picture of all my favorite Mamas...

Drew's 7th Birthday Recap {Horseback Riding}

We woke up Saturday Morning and the first thing Drew said was:

"Mom. It's my birthday today."

In the most soft, sleepy voice ever.
I'm pretty sure he is was still asleep while he was talking. Ha.

The boys were supposed to have baseball games that morning, but were canceled due to the weather. A few days before Drew had mentioned he wanted to have some fried chicken for his birthday dinner.
If this does not scream growing up I do not know what does.
He could have picked Chuck E Cheese....
So I thought Giant City Lodge would be a great place to take him!

This child had 5 pieces of chicken breasts. He can eat fried chicken like no other. It is so bizarre.  This little child who eats like a bird downs the fried chicken. Who knew?!?!

We ordered some ice cream for the boys. I asked the waitress if she could add a few extra toppings or something special to his ice cream for his birthday.

To my surprise she had the whole lodge sing Happy Birthday to him.

I quickly turned on my video on my phone to record and got tears in my eyes.
That was so so so sweet of the lady to help make him feel special.
I wanted the day to be all about Drew and she helped make that happen.

After we ate we tried to climb the tower, but made it 1/2 way up and all four of us got scared and turned around. Ha.

While we were driving out to the lodge I noticed a stable that offered horse rides, so on the way back we stopped to see if the boys could ride some horses.

Wow. Best idea I've had in a long time.
They absolutely LOVED it and wanted to do it over and over again.

His family birthday celebration could not have turned out any more perfect!!

And here we go with the pictures... :)
